LASER HAIR REMOVAL (FACE) @ SK:N

I know some people may not be interested in this so please feel free to skip this video! At the same time, I hope anyone interested in laser hair removal might find it a bit useful!

The clinic I had my treatments at is SK:N

http://www.sknclinics.co.uk/

One of the biggest things I forgot to mention was the exact feeling of the laser around session 3-4.
Its hard to describe but its like a sharp, quick ping of an elastic band with a slight burn lol! It lasts split seconds and remember a little pain, a BIG gain! Cold and I mean COLD air is blasted on your face which takes a lot of the edge off! You may even find it doesn’t hurt you quite so much, I have very course hair or I should say HAD!

FYI: Top lip is the painful area but only requires about 8 little zaps!

I had a course of 6 treatments in total which worked out to roughly £80 a session and I have about 95% reduction so may have another treatment to blast the final 5%. My course of treatments was on offer so cheaper than usual. SK:N run these promotions quite frequently so it’s worth waiting for as it reduces the price substantially!

I would recommend booking all your treatments in one go as a) it makes each session cheaper and b) going for one session will not reduce the hair but will cost you just under £100! Its a lot of money but worth it when 6 months later you are hair free!!! Woop!

Also worth noting, laser does not work on blonde hair as there is no pigmentation for the laser to travel down.

Any more questions please post me a comment! :)

what did you search for when you were looking for a place to have it done at? and what questions do you recommend to ask for someone like me who wants to have it done? what have been the results since you had it done? did you see results or do you struggle with facial hair still?

As with any procedure there are risks but find a good clinic you feel confident in and I really think you will be happy with the results! If they think your skin colour isn’t suitable they will not recommend treatment. Would be worth having a consultation anyway! :)

    No I totally know …
No I totally know how having a beard felt lol! Pigmentation changes are very rare and if you use a sunscreen on your face daily for 2 weeks after you should be fine! Blisters can occur if the laser is too strong for you but they will always do a tiny test patch every time they consider increasing the strength.

    OMG quick hair …
OMG quick hair regrowth wasn’t the word! lol! It was rapid speed man hair!! haha!! I would defiantly go to your GP and check to make sure you haven’t got polycystic ovaries as this is one of the main culprits for female facial hair. laser can still be used even if you do have a hormone imbalance :)

    Did you have quick …
Did you have quick hair regrowth? I am looking into laser treatments because not only do I have coarse, dark hair on my chin/upper lip, but after i remove it with an epilator, it grows back within a day and a half or so. I guess for the average woman, hair is supposed to not grow back for 6 weeks if you remove it that way. I dunno if I have a hormonal imbalance, but I have struggled with this for years. Hopefully laser removal can remedy it.

This is a very nice and informative video. I’m 26 and in the U.S., and I’m Caucasian, but I too struggle with dark brown hair on my face. I get waxed every week and my body reacts well to the waxing, but its annoying. Even though you live in the UK, its nice to hear that you had good results with it.

Good luck with it! You’ll have to let me know how you get on! I would love to get some more areas done! Shame they can’t just fire a huge laser at your whole body and do everything in one go lol! The lower legs hurting sound like when you get a tattoo… where the skin hasn’t got much fat! My cheekbone area hurt the most on me! The pain is worth it tho! :) x
