Hair removal using Palomar Starlux IPL, by Dr. Grover
A short clip demonstrating permantent hair removal using the highly effective Starlux intense pulse light device.
Laser hair removal and Intense Pulse light devices typically take 6 treatments to clear unwanted hair. They work by treating the follicle growth region and eliminating the cells that generate new hair. Waxing and other methods typically sheer the hair shaft off and don’t give permanent results. Our treatment has minimal discomfort, and we recommend treating every 3 weeks to treat the hairs. Multiple treatments are required by any type of hair reduction since the hair follicle respond to light only when they are in active growth and not dormant. Usually about 1/3 are active in a treatment, but varies on treatment location. We can treat any region except for scalp or eyebrows. there is no such thing as “permanent” hair removal as of today. The best thing u can experience is a long-term hair removal and permanent hair REDUCTION which is fine and way better than waxing and shaving …
Honestly, thk u for …
Honestly, thk u for posting. I just looked up nd yag 1064 or alexandrite, and they all have positive reviews. Do u know if there are any home kits?

like i said if your goal is to reduce hair growth, ipl’s are not going to work for you. i am a laser tech &ive worked with ipl’s &there not what you think. i have had laser treatments not ipl. laser (nd yag 1064 or alexandrite) is the only thing thats going to work for you.

.. Have u had an ipl treatment or it was a laser ? .. and can u tell the setting i mean was it ( 9 or much)
hi , i just had my ipl treatment but i can’t see any defference
thnx
i also dont …
i also dont recommend anything to numb the area because if your being burned you cant feel it. plus its not painful its more annoying. it feels like your being hit with a rubber band lightly. instead of lmx take some tylenol an hour before your treatment.
but then again its …
but then again its not guaranteed to be permanently gone. its guaranteed to reduce &the hairs will purge but, on the more hormonal areas like the face, it will be very stubborn to treat. darker skins CAN be treated. just not with an IPL. IPL’s cant tell the difference between melanin in the skin &melanin in the hair. if you are black you need to be treated with an alex or an nd yag &on low settings. an ipl on a darker skin will cause serious burns.
ipl’s are horrible …
ipl’s are horrible for laser hair reduction. for hair you want to get it done by either an alexandrite or an nd yag 1064. ipl’s are way better for veins. palomar is a good manufacturer, i met with one of their reps, ipl’s as a whole are not good for hair reduction. palomar does make an nd yag 1064 though. i use a cutera altus coolglide nd yag 1064 &it works great.

it feels like a rubber band lightly being snapped on skin. can use a topical numbing cream to make more comfortable.

im glad im not hairy..lmao
the wave lenght of …
the wave lenght of the laser beam is fairly large compared to the size of a gene. The chances of damage to dna is very small although elevated compared to normal exposure of course. In other words you are MANY more times likely to get cancer from say a dental x-ray than laser hair removal treatment.
it will be very …
it will be very dangerous for your skin and it is more painfull for you since the laser hit the dark area so take care be carefull

I bet this causes cancer.
it’s not guarunteed …
it’s not guarunteed. it depends on how thick your hair is and (this is my theory) how many times you have used products like nair and epil-stop. i used both on my upper lip every once in a while and it always grows back the fastest there. but on my chin, cheek nd sidebrn area, not a hint of hair and it’s been a month since my 2nd session.
and cant you get it …
and cant you get it done so that the hairs wont EVER grow back?
really how do you …
really how do you know?? are you black?…Im mulata (half white half black) will it work on me?

for one it dose not …
for one it dose not work on black people the skin is to dark and when they say 8 treatments all the hear will be gone what they realy mean is it take 25 treatments and then it works but you still have to go back every 3 months
im 19 and i had my …
im 19 and i had my first treatment a month ago on my face. it definitely hurts since its a sensitive area, but it’s tolerable. but i haven’t had the hair grow back significantly. what happens is when it grows back, i just use a blackhead scrub and a wash my face, focusing on the areas with hair, and then the hair falls off again.
how much will it …
how much will it cost to get your upper lip done ? How much will it hurt ? What is this thing called ? Where can you find it ? How young can you start treatments ?

Thanks for the help …
Thanks for the help. Also what is the going rate for laser hair removal on the chest. In the area I’m going to the rate average is anywhere from $350 to $425 for just the chest. Does that sound right? Is that an ok price? That price is at a doctors office not a spa.
