It seems like the characters are 50/50 in the game I just can't believe thats the real case.

The characters may be 50/50 but I don't think that the players are

I know several guys who have female characters and several women who have male characters. I know of a married couple who play, the husband has a female while the wife plays a male.

    YES….my bro plays 40hrs or so of WOW (World of Warcraft) a week and most the people in some of his guilds are female

    I'm a female and I play WoW. I love it! I might not play 40 hours a week (i have to work) but i play for atleast 8 -15 hrs a day straight on the weekends. I've got a lvl 31 NE Druid on the Thrall Server and my guild leader is female along with 5-7 others. I've found a lot of women running around WoW during my gameplay, i'm not sure how people miss it and think that there are few women on there.

    I don't know if it's exactly 50/50, but a lot of girls play - I love to raid with my boyfriend.

    If you ever get involved with a guild that uses a chat client like Ventrilo or Teamspeak (usually either a large guild, or one that raids regularly), you'll usually hear a fair amount of women.

    While there's a lot of female players, there's certainly not as many as there are female toons. Overall, I'd guess it's closer to 33/66, based off my raiding group.

    As a matter of fact when I can't see my boyfriend, him and I both play WoW. Helps us keep in touch.

    Also, we both have a mutual friend that just moved to Texas (we're in Michigan) and he now plays WoW to keep in touch with us. His girlfriend played his account so much, he had to buy her her own copy :D

    Definately! I got hooked when my husband started playing. He has moved on from the game but I still absolutely love it. I personally find it relaxing. I have met a ton of people online and really enjoy the group that I play online with right now!!! Great bunch of people! I do agree that not as many females play compared to the males but we are still out there!!! :D

    I'm a real live girl who really plays WoW. I have characters on Hellscream (my main), Llane (have a friend on that server) and recently started an RP toon on Kirin Tor.
